DENVER — The weather pattern is much more active and it will remain that way for much of the early part of December.
This week, the state finally sees heavy mountain snowfall and the metro area will get colder weather.
In the city, there was a cooler change Sunday with the strong wind that blew a few areas of light rain and snow through some neighborhoods.
The same storm is blanketing the mountains with heavy snowfall, great news for the lacking snowpack but bad news for travelers trying to get home for the start of the workweek.
There will continue to be heavy mountain snowfall this week. The Divide and western=facing slopes might come away with 1 to 2 feet of snow this week.
Meanwhile, Denver might have occasional snow chances on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The amount of snowfall looks small for the metro area.
Highs will be in the 30s to middle 40s with lows in the teens to 20s.
