DENVER — Saturday was a picture perfect spring day across Colorado with highs in the upper 60s in Denver, and blue skies throughout the mountains.

Sunday will be just as beautiful and even warmer in the metro area.

However, the wind will be the main story along the Front Range, as the next system will bring another round of snow to the mountains Sunday afternoon.

Due to high winds, southeast Colorado will be under a Red Flag Warning from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parts of Douglas, Elbert and El Paso Counties are included in this warning, as well as metro cities Castle Pines and Castle Rock.

Up in the mountains, a Winter Weather Advisory will be in place from 3 p.m. Sunday until 9 a.m. Monday with the mountains expecting 3 to 7 inches of new snow. Strong wind gusts will make the drive to the High Country hazardous.

Our next chance for rain/snow showers in Denver is on Wednesday and Thursday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
