PARKER, Colo. — A fast-moving system carrying a small tornado touched down in the far northeast corner of Parker near the Elbert County line Friday afternoon.
The storm caused quite a bit of damage, knocking down trees, ripping apart sheds and in one case obliterating a child’s play set.
“There was debris out there and we don’t know where it came from. That blue thing I think it was a swimming pool over there,” said Mary, who asked us not to use her last name.
Mary and her husband Bob have lived in Parker for 41 years. Their giant tree, which was snapped in the storm, had been around as long as they have.
“We planted that tree when we first moved here,” explained Bob.
Fortunately, the tree didn’t land on their garage or home.
Neighbors experienced similar damage.
