DENVER — There will be rain early Friday night across metro Denver with a chance of thunderstorms. By 9 p.m., expect rain to mix with snow with a rapid change to snow. Snow will travel from north to south and is expected to end early Saturday morning.
We are forecasting between 1 and 3 inches from north to south across the metro. In most places, the accumulation will mainly be on grassy areas. Totals could be higher on the south and west sides of Denver, with some accumulation on roads could make travel slick, especially very late Friday and early on Saturday.
Temperatures are expected to rise this week, starting in the 50s, 60s and eventually making their way to the 70s. Additional rain showers will arrive on Wednesday and it will dry for the rest of the week. That includes the Rockies' home opener at Coors Field on Friday. It will be a perfect recipe for baseball in the Mile High City.
