Your weekend will be fantastic for travel but we need snowfall at this point.

The state’s fire danger will be watched closely this weekend with temperatures well above average, especially on the plains, and with occasionally strong winds.

You know it, we need snowfall as the state is in a drought. Denver is nearly two feet shy of average and the mountains are running close to 50 percent the average.

Still, it appears that ski conditions are good from a combination of smaller snow storms and machine-made snow. At least travel will be smooth weatherwise.

Tranquil weather moves in Saturday through next week with Heartbreak Ridge – a large dome of high pressure that will keep the West abnormally warm and dry.

High temps near 60 both Saturday and Sunday.
