Severe weather sweeps across Colorado causing tornados, flooding

DENVER — Several severe storms made their way across Colorado Saturday, bringing heavy rain, large hail and damaging winds.

There were also numerous Tornado Watches and Warnings issued throughout the afternoon.

A Tornado Watch was issued until 10 p.m. for Elbert, Lincoln, Larimer, Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, Jefferson, Logan, Morgan, Washington, Weld and Boulder counties, including the cities of Akron, Bennett, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Byers, Castle Rock, Fort Collins and more.

Meteorologist Nick Carter advises to be ready to get indoors if the skies look threatening.

Carter says to expect drier weather on Sunday, but a wet period of weather will follow throughout the rest of the week with a chance of hit or miss storms every afternoon in the 7 day period.
