For the weekend, highs will remain in the 90s with each afternoon coming within a degree or two of record levels.
The record in Denver on Saturday is 95 from 1933. The record high on Sunday is 94 set in 1959.
By Monday a cooler change finally arrives. A cold front will slide down the eastern plains of Colorado during the afternoon and knock temperatures back into the 80s.
That front will also generate some showers and thunderstorms.
