JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The first thing new Jacksonville Jaguars general Manager David Caldwell did Thursday during his first news conference was make it clear Tim Tebow won’t be playing for his hometown team.

The Associated Press reports the Jaguars made it clear they will not pursue the popular and polarizing current New York Jets quarterback and former Denver Broncos QB.

The Jets are likely to release Tebow, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and led the Florida Gators to two national championships in Gainesville, just down the road from Jacksonville.

“I can’t imagine a scenario in which he’ll be a Jacksonville Jaguar — even if he’s released,” Caldwell said according to the AP.
