NATAL, Brazil — What further part will Luis Suarez play in the World Cup?

The Uruguay striker, whose side progressed to the next round following a 1-0 win over 10-man Italy, clashed with Giorgio Chiellini in an incident just minutes before the South American side’s winning goal.

Television pictures showed Suarez dipping his head to butt Chiellini with both players collapsing on the ground.

When the Italian defender eventually got up, he pulled down his shirt and appeared to indicate that he had been bitten on the shoulder.

Diego Godin’s 81st minute header sealed victory for Uruguay soon after to clinch second in group D behind Costa Rica.

Los Ticos, which had won its previous two games, finished with a goalless draw against England in Belo Horizonte.
