DENVER – Free agent quarterback Peyton Manning worked out for the Tennessee Titans Saturday and a team source told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio the Titans were impressed with Manning’s performance.

According to Titans general manager Ruston Webster, “we traveled to Knoxville and had a workout with Peyton … this is another important set in the process.”

Paolantonio reports that his source believes “Tennessee’s front office remains optimistic Manning will decide to join the Titans.” It has been widely reported that Titans owner Bud Adams has offered Manning a lifetime contract.

Manning is expected to make a decision by Tuesday.

In the most encouraging sign for Broncos fans since his visit last week, Manning worked out for Broncos officials Friday at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

"We enjoyed visiting with Peyton today in N.C. He threw the ball great and looked very comfortable out there," Broncos executive vice president John Elway said in a Twitter Post Friday afternoon.

A private jet belonging to Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen departed Centennial Airport Friday morning and arrived at the Raleigh-Durham airport at about 1:10 p.m. Eastern Time.

It returned to Centennial Airport not far from Broncos Headquarters at 6:45 p.m. MDT.

Making the trip was Elway, head coach John Fox, general manager Brian Xanders, offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, quarterbacks coach Adam Gase and team medical personnel.

"Watching him throw today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton. It was a productive visit and went well," Elway tweeted.

Not reported until Friday is the fact that Manning also worked out for the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

The 11-time Pro Bowler and four-time league MVP visited Broncos headquarters at Dove Valley last Friday, spending six hours at the facilities. He has also met with the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins and Titans over the past week.

On Thursday, Manning notified the Dolphins they are no longer in the running for his services, according to the NFL. On Friday, Arizona bowed out of the Manning Sweepstakes after paying QB Kevin Kolb a $7 million bonus.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports all three teams still in the running for Manning are offering deals of five years for $90 million.
