DENVER — Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning returned to full practice Thursday after taking Wednesday off with a minor ankle injury.
Many fans were concerned to see Manning out of pads and in sweats at practice on Wednesday, especially after the 37-year-old took several solid shots in the Broncos’ 39-33 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
There was speculation that Manning had injured his throwing arm on a hit from former teammate Robert Mathis, but the club maintained that a sore ankle was the only problem.
As expected, cornerback Champ Bailey (foot) did not practice Thursday, nor did offensive lineman Chris Kuper (ankle). Coach John Fox described Bailey’s status as “week-to-week,” which likely means he won’t play against the Washington Redskins this weekend.
