ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Because of ongoing construction at the team's facility, the Broncos this year will close off training camp practices to fans.

The Broncos are expanding their Dove Valley headquarters and building an indoor practice facility. But there is no room for fans to park during training camp in late July and early August and also no place for them to sit, the team announced Friday.

To make up for the lost opportunities to see players up close, the Broncos will have three practices at Sports Authority Field at Mile High -- July 27, July 30 and Aug. 2 -- with free parking and admission.

“While we are disappointed in being unable to host fans at our facility during training camp this summer, we look forward to accommodating them for multiple practices at Sports Authority Field at Mile High,” Broncos President Joe Ellis said. “The safety and comfort of our fans are top priorities, and unfortunately the construction of the new indoor practice field as well as the renovations to our existing building present a number of safety and logistical issues.

"The improvements made to our facility will be spectacular and significantly enhance the fan experience for training camps at Dove Valley for years to come.”

“Our new campus will include new offices, indoor practice facility, parking and the seating berm for fans … that  is going to be tripled in size,” says Broncos spokesman Erich Schubert.

As part of the construction, the berm where fans usually sit during training camp practices will triple in size to accommodate more fans starting in 2015.

Construction is said to be just a bit ahead of schedule … there are more than 250 construction workers getting the work done … so while this summer won’t include a trip to Dove Valley to see rookies and vets sweat it out, for those who never get to go see the home team at the stadium … your chance has come.
