NEW YORK — Broncos linebacker Von Miller, who led the team’s defensive charge in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, is on the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated.

Miller had six tackles and 2 1/2 sacks of Panthers quarterback and 2015 league MVP Cam Newton in the Broncos’ 24-10 victory. He also forced two fumbles, the first of which was recovered Malik Jackson for a touchdown in the first quarter.

On the Sports Illustrated cover, Miller is seen forcing the first fumble as Newton tumbles to the turf.

It’s accompanied by the headline: “Broncos Cheer. The scary-good Denver D dabsmacks the Panthers.”

Miller was named MVP of the game, joining Chuck Howley, Ray Lewis and Malcolm Smith as the only linebackers to be so honored in the 50 years of the game.

Miller finished the regular season with 11 sacks and 35 combined tackles. He was named first team All-Pro for the second time.
