Broncos sign 2 players to active roster, place Harris, Wolfe on injured reserve

DENVER — The Denver Broncos signed free-agent cornerback Marquice Cole and practice squad tackle Vinston Painter to the team’s active roster Tuesday.

The Broncos placed cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and defensive end Derek Wolfe on injured reserve.

The New England Patriots released Cole Dec. 26. He participated in 27 games with the Pats during the last two seasons. He was with the New York Jets from 2009-11.

Vinston Painter is a rookie from Virginia Tech who spent this season on the Broncos’ practice squad. Denver took him in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
