ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos added three new captains for the second half of the season, including quarterback Trevor Siemian.

“It’s a tremendous honor for me, it really is,” Siemian said Wednesday. “Huge honor for me, really excited to be a part of this thing.”

Siemian’s teammates voted to make him the captain of the offense.

Siemian said he’s grateful that his teammates see him “in that light” and said the looking forward to “growing into a little bit of a leadership role.”

Despite the honor, Siemian told reporters he’s not 100 percent pleased with his own performance.

“A little too inconsistent from where I want to be,” Siemian said. “The bottom line is I need to be more consistent.”

Siemian said he expects the rest of the season to be challenging but his teammates will fight to the end.

“It just feels like every game is tooth and nail. … It’s really cool to be a part of that  group that doesn’t really back down from those challenges,” he said.

The players voted for saftey T.J. Ward for captain of the defense and for Dakota Watson for special teams captain.
