WASHINGTON — The Denver Broncos visited the White House on Monday to be honored for their win in Super Bowl 50.

All the Broncos who participated in the Super Bowl 50 were invited for their tour of the White House and visit with President Barack Obama.

Cornerback Aqib Talib was not among those on the plane after he was shot in the leg in Dallas late Saturday night.

A statement from the Broncos read: “We are in communication with Aqib Talib, who remains at a Dallas hospital for observation as he recovers from a gunshot wound suffered to his lower right leg on Sunday. He is expected to be released from the hospital soon, and we are glad he is OK and will make a full recovery.”

Talib is expected to be released from the hospital Monday.

Quarterback Brock Osweiler did not join his former teammates. Osweiler rejected the Broncos’ offer to re-sign him to the team and he instead signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Houston Texans.

He cited a busy schedule practicing with his new teammates and thanked the Broncos for extending the invitation.

Broncos players took to social media to express their excitement for the trip.
