ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The first round of the NFL Draft will be held Thursday night in Chicago. As the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Broncos will make the 31st and last pick in the first round.
The question is, do the Broncos remain at No. 31, take the best player available or trade up and draft the quarterback of the future?
The Broncos lost their top two quarterbacks during the offseason when Peyton Manning retired and Brock Osweiler left for the Houston Texans in free agency.
The Broncos earlier traded for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez. And there was the pursuit of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The Broncos have 10 draft picks over the seven rounds, which could allow them to acquire Kaepernick or move up from the No. 31 spot. Four of their picks come in the first three rounds, which could add much-needed depth.
Besides quarterback, the broncos have holes at safety, running back, tight end, defensive end and inside linebacker.
The draft begins at 6 p.m.
