MIAMI — A late-inning rally fell short for the third day in a row, as the Rockies dropped their sixth straight game in a 7-6 loss to the Marlins on Tuesday at Marlins Park.

Much like Monday’s series-opening loss, the Rockies jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, plating three runs on four hits against Marlins righty Ricky Nolasco. Jonathan Herrera and Jordan Pacheco started the game with back-to-back singles before Troy Tulowitzki drew a one-out walk and Todd Helton singled in Herrera from third.

Pacheco’s first-inning single extended his hitting streak to eight games. Michael Cuddyer followed up Helton’s single with an RBI hit of his own before Wilin Rosario drove in Helton with a sacrifice fly to give the Rockies a 3-0 lead. MORE>>>
