DENVER — The Calgary Flames signed Colorado Avalanche star player Ryan O’Reilly to an offer sheet Thursday afternoon.
During the game between Colorado and Calgary Thursday night, the Avs announced they would match Calgary’s offer of two years, $10 million.
Colorado had seven days to match the offer or accept the compensation: a first- and third-round draft pick.
O’Reilly has been in a contract dispute with the Avalanche, but that ended quickly Thursday night thanks to the push from the Flames.
O’Reilly led the Avalanche last season with 18 goals and 37 assists for a total of 55 points.
