A national bus tour promoting the idea that education should begin long before a child first steps on a school bus is coming to Denver. The big, orange bus’ message is simple, but difficult for many parents to realize, and even harder to find the time to do something about. Parents can change the trajectory of their child’s education by simply having ample amounts of interaction and reading with them from the time they are born until they are four years old. In fact, the number of words spoken to a child during those first few years of life is the greatest indicator of success both in school and on IQ later in life.
