DENVER — In a move that could save you money, Denver Public Works is giving people a break on some parking tickets this week.
As part of National Public Works Week,” the city will issue warnings instead of citations for various parking laws.
Denver Public Works says it’s hoping to educate the public about lesser-known parking laws.
You’ll still get a ticket if the meter runs out or if you park in street sweeping zones, handicap or resident-only spaces.
Other nonposted restrictions that will result in only warnings this week include: Parking against the flow of traffic or obstructing traffic flow; parking on the sidewalk or the sidewalk area; parking less than 20 feet from a crosswalk or stop sign; and parking in alleys or blocking traffic through alleys.
