One way to know where you kids are is to use technology. There are a variety of apps available for free that can track your kids cellphone using GPS.

Life360 is one example. The app shows where your kid is on a map and where potential threats are including registered sex offenders.

Check out these tips from SafeKids.org.

  • Have kids use glow sticks or flashlights to help make them more visible to drivers
  • Children under 12 should not be without a parent. Mature children should not trick-or-treat alone. Have them go in groups
  • Popular trick-or-treat times are 5:30 to 9 p.m. Be alert when driving then
