If you're still trying to track down the perfect gift for Dad, think tech!  Here are a few ideas that might make Dad's day.

$35 - Streaming and apps on your TV

If Dad loves Netflix or music a Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV Stick would make the perfect gift.  The small sticks plug into your TV's HDMI port.  The Fire TV Stick includes a small remote to navigate the menus and load various apps.  The Chromecast, on the other hand, doesn't have a menu or remote.  Everything is controlled from your smartphone.  For just $35 this is an easy and inexpensive gift.  You can find both at most electronics stores.  I checked and they are in stock locally at Best Buy.

$50-$300 - Go Bluetooth or go home

If Dad loves music or listening to sports radio streaming over the internet, a Bluetooth speaker is a must.  You can spend as little as $50 but I would recommend spending closer to $100 to get something that sounds great.  Personally, I like the Ultimate Ears Boom from Logitech.  It's not cheap at $200 but it sounds awesome, looks good, is water resistant and has a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts for 15 hours on 1 charge.  You can find the Boom at local electronics stores.

$250 - Nest Learning Thermostat

The Nest has been out for a few years but it keeps getting better.  It's now owned by Google and they just updated the software this week to add new features.  It connects via Wi-Fi, can be controlled from your smartphone and uses sensors and smart technology to control your heat and A/C.  A motion sensor knows when you leave your home and sets your thermostat to "away".  Away mode will turn down the heat or A/C automatically.  It also recognizes patterns as you adjust the thermostat and creates a custom "smart" schedule for you.  Best of all, it looks super cool on your wall.  You can find Nest at most local hardware and electronics stores.

$150 - Zepp Baseball Swing Analyzer

The sporty dad will appreciate a Zepp bluetooth device.  The motion tracking fob connects to a baseball bat, tennis racket or golf club to help track and improve your swing.  The Zepp connects to your smartphone and gives you a 3D look at your swing.  You'll find Zepp at Verizon stores as well as local sports stores.
