There are approximately 2,800 breast cancer diagnoses in Colorado every year, and while those patients are undergoing intensive treatment, like surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, they are still trying to make ends meet for their families. This is really difficult if they are out of work for any period of time. A local non-profit, Sense of Security, has been providing $1.7 million to help more than 1,200 Coloradans pay their bills during treatment.
One of the fun ways they raise money is through the Shimmy 2B Bellydancing Festival, which is this Thursday through Sunday, and Saturday night is the Shimmy Showcase at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Studio. Tickets are $20 at the door, or buy them online now for only $15 at www.senseofsecurity.org
