LONGMONT, Colo. — A construction worker fell through the roof of a mall under construction and died Monday morning, the Longmont Police Department said.

Two workers from Ramos Roofing were on the roof about 6 a.m. at the Village at the Peaks when one of them, 39-year-old Tereso Zamarippa-Hernandez of Aurora, fell through a hole that had been covered with plywood.

The worker fell onto a concrete floor and his co-worker found him unresponsive after rushing to his aid. The co-worker called 911 and when help arrived, the man was pronounced dead.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.  The Village at the Peaks is replacing the shuttered Twin Peaks Mall.
