DENVER — When women go to exercise, they probably don’t think about putting on their high heels.

But that’s exactly what women are doing as part of the latest exercise craze to reach the Denver area.

It’s called Vegas Stiletto Fitness.

A group of women put on their favorite pair of high heels and learn a very sexy dance. They say it’s exercise in disguise. “I felt it in my legs after the first five moves,” one dancer said.

The secret, she says is that walking or dancing in heels requires balance and that can improve strength.

Luckily there haven’t been any broken ankles.

Instead, the instructor says these women got a core workout. “I will tell you the next day they definitely feel it because walking in heels requires core work and it strengthens your legs,” said Davida Wright Galvin, the dance instructor.

She says this dance may not burn 500 calories, but it is fun and builds confidence.

Women of all shapes, sizes, age and ability participate. For more information check out

The next girls’ night out with Vegas Stiletto Fitness is Saturday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Denver Turnverein, 1570 Clarkson St, Denver, CO.
