DENVER — A woman who bit two people inside an east Denver convenience store last year has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and one year of probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault.

According to prosecutors, Emi Coleman, 31, walked into the Barn Store at 4650 Tower Road on November 7, 2011 and approached a male customer, first taking his drink and then proceeding to drink it.

She then pushed the man against a counter, grabbed his genitals and bit him on the neck.

After that, she turned her attention to the female store clerk.

After first asking the clerk for a hug, the victim says Coleman leaned over the counter and bit her on the neck as well. She then left the store with a male accomplice.

Coleman was sentenced to one year of supervised probation that also includes serving 30 days in the Denver County Jail, another 60 days of in-home detention, drug and alcohol treatment, mental health treatment and anger management treatment.
