DENVER — The woman who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Monday night was identified Wednesday morning by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Ariel Berryman, 28, died after the crash on Colorado Boulevard at Interstate 70. She died of blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said.

The alleged hit-and-run driver, 25-year-old Tyler White, was found naked in a lake at City Park a few hours after the crash.

He is being held without bail for investigation of drunken driving, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

Police said White was believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed when he slammed into Berryman’s Prius on southbound Colorado Boulevard.

Two other vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction crash. Neither of those drivers was seriously hurt.

According to a probable cause statement, White told a paramedic he was driving in excess of 90 mph at the time of the crash. The speed limit in the area is 35 mph.
