DENVER — A woman’s car was rear-ended, then the woman herself was hit by the suspect’s car when she got out to inspect the damage Saturday night near 13th Avenue and Broadway.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the collision, which happened around 9 p.m.,  Denver Police Det. John White said in a video release. Police believe the victim was stopped at a traffic signal when a white Volkswagen with the license plate 375-IZE struck her from behind. As the woman exited her car, the driver of the Volkswagen took off, clipping the victim in the process.

So far, the victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said. They are asking anyone with information about the suspect car to contact DPD at 720-913-7867.
