ASPEN, Colo. -- The X-Games are always filled with wild wrecks and the events that are now underway in Aspen are no different.

A pair of crashes Thursday night sent two competitors to the hospital, and the competitors just happen to be brothers.

The video of these crashes is incredible. Hit the "play" button on the video player above to see them.

The X-Games are extreme sports and they're all about taking risk.

There were three crashes in the snowmobile freestyle finals... two of them happened to brothers Caleb and Colton Moore.

Caleb tried a back flip and the 450-pound snowmobile landed on his head. He had serious injuries and he was knocked unconscious.

Doctors evaluated the 25-year-old for a concussion and found he was bleeding internally around his heart. He was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction for heart surgery.

Doctors say it went well and he was in ICU Friday where his mom said he was improving "by the minute."

The crash his brother Colton was involved in ended up sending him to the hospital with a separated pelvis. He didn't need surgery.

The X-Games participants are daredevils and major crashes with serious injuries just come with the territory.
