DENVER — A 12-inch water main ruptured early Wednesday morning, flooding Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and closing the busy road.
Denver Water said the break happened at MLK Jr. Boulevard and Glencoe Street after midnight, and MLK was closed between Hudson and Forest streets.
At 6:30 a.m., westbound lanes reopened, but eastbound lanes remained closed. There was no estimate when eastbound lanes would reopen but they will be closed through at least the morning rush hour.
Denver Water said the 68-year-old pipe break forced 40 homes to be without water while repairs are made.
