STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — The thrill of completing high school is usually enough excitement for most high school graduates, but 18-year-old Kate Brady from Steamboat Springs is getting an extra dose after watching her original graduation song go viral on You Tube.

In the video, Brady is accompanied by 16-year-old Nissa Jane on cello. The two performed their beautiful song “Sailing Ships” at their high school graduation. Their cell phone video of the song made it to the front page of Reddit, a social news website, racking up the number of hits.

Since the video was posted Friday, the song has nearly 300,000 hits and climbing.

Comments on the video are already demanding for the song to be released on ITunes so new fans can download it.

Brady will be attending the University of Colorado at Boulder in the Fall to study music.
