COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Schools in the Adams 14 school district will reopen Wednesday after Monday’s damaging storms forced administrators to close them Tuesday.

A FOX31 viewer recorded a district school bus dropping off children during the hailstorm in Commerce City. She wondered about the students being let off the bus during the severe storm.

“Because the hail was relatively small … bus drivers decided to release the middle school students from the bus to head home,” the district said in a statement.

The district said some parents expressed concerns about releasing the children. It said it is reviewing protocols and will make any needed changes.

There were no reported injuries.
