NORTHGLENN, Colo. — One person was injured Wednesday morning after a utility truck exploded in a Northglenn neighborhood. The explosion was so strong that six nearby houses were damaged.
North Metro Fire said the owner of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, and the fire was immediately put out near Lincoln Street and Garland Drive.
That is just east of Interstate 25 and north of East 104th Avenue.

The man told authorities he had a gas tank stored inside the truck. He was later discharged from the hospital. At least two other vehicles were damaged in the explosion, and there was debris littered on the street and driveway. There was superficial damage to six homes but there were no structural issues, officials said. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
