USA Today rated Glenwood Caverns in Glenwood Springs as “one of the top ten places to go underground.”
The caverns are home to King’s Row, one of Colorado’s most decorated cave rooms. The Glenwood Caverns Cave Tour is a 70 minute walking tour. The caverns are a constant 52 degrees, so you will want to take along a jacket or sweat shirt. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There are 127 steps on the tour. You will get to explore the Historic Fairy Caves, first opened to the public in 1895, and the Glenwood Caverns, which opened in 1999.
Cost for tram ride and cave tour is $22 for adults and $18 for children 3-12. If you do the Adventure Park Day Pass at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park for $42 adults and $38 for children 3-12, you can add the cave tour for just $5 more.
For easy access to the park, the place to stay is Hotel Glenwood Springs. You can literally stay where you play with the tram next to the hotel. Most of the hotel rooms have double queen beds since they cater to families. Extended continental breakfast is included. Pet-friendly rooms are available. Glenwood Springs’ only indoor water park and the largest indoor water park in western Colorado is in the hotel too.
