Jennifer Broome gets all decked out in western wear at F.M. Light & Sons in Steamboat Springs.
As you head in to Steamboat Springs, you likely notice the bright yellow signs along the road. Those signs are for F.M. Light and Sons, which has been outfitting the West for more than a hundred years. It is a Steamboat Springs landmark with a legacy that spans five generations. F.M. Light and Sons opened in 1905. It is currently owned by the Lindsey (Lockhart) and Chris Dillenbeck. Lindsey is the first female owner in the family since her great great grandfather opened the store.
F.M. Light and Sons is the oldest Stetson hat dealer west of the Mississippi. The also carry well-known western brands like Lucchese, Dan Post, Old Gringo, Pendleton, Levi, Woolrich, Scully, and Rockmount Ranch Wear. F.M. Light and Sons is located in downtown Steamboat Springs and open 7 days a week. The kids will love a chance to sit on Lightning. The fiberglass horse has been around for three generations.
