Three schools on lockout as police search for bank robbery suspect

LITTLETON, Colo. — Three Jefferson County Schools were placed on lockout Tuesday while police searched for a bank robbery suspect in the area.

Dutch Creek Elementary, Deer Creek Middle and Stoney Creek Elementary schools were not allowing anyone inside until the situation was resolved, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported. Deputies were searching the area with canine units.

The situation stems from a bank robbery reported about 11 a.m. at the 1ST Bank at 6700 Wadsworth Boulevard.

The suspect was described as a white male with blond hair, in his 20s, standing about six feet tall.

The lockouts were lifted around 12:20 p.m.
