DENVER — Two girls who disappeared in December after their mother didn’t show up for custody exchanges with their fathers were found safe in Mexico on Wednesday, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said.

Brittany Morgan Nunn was scheduled for a custody exchange with the father of her 6-year-old daughter, Eden Marie Noel Nunn, on Dec. 5 but failed to show.

Larimer County investigators went to Nunn’s home in Wellington and found indications the family – Nunn, her husband Peter Barr, 6-year-old Eden and 4-year-old Gemalynne Nunn-Morraine – had left in a hurry and were no longer living in the home.

Gemmalynne Nunn-Morraine, 4, and Eden Marie Noel Nunn, 6, were found safe in Mexico on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.

On Dec. 12, Nunn also failed to show for a child exchange with the father of Gemalynne.

Sheriffs investigators worked the past seven months tracking leads. Nunn and Barr were found with the girls in Cabo San Lucas and taken into custody by Mexican Immigration authorities.

Nunn and Barr were deported to Denver, and the girls were reunited with their fathers upon arriving at Denver International Airport.

Eden’s father Dayton Clevenger said, “Eden doesn`t seem to have skipped a beat and it seems like we haven`t missed a single day.”

The father of 5-year old Gema Nunn-McMorrine, Steven McMorrine Jr., described his reunion as “a huge blessing couldn`t ask for anything better she came into the room and welcomed me with open arms.”

Nunn and Barr were taken into custody by Larimer County sheriffs. Nunn is being held on charges of violating custody, obstructing a court order and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Barr is being held on charges of violating custody and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
