DENVER — A red pickup truck was found almost submerged in the South Platte River after an accident on West Florida Avenue on Friday afternoon.
The red truck and another SUV were involved in a crash, which caused the truck to go down the river embankment.
The male driver was unable to get out of the truck before it went into the water, Denver Police told FOX31 Denver.
A Good Samaritan jumped out of his car and into the river, to save the driver.
The truck driver had his window down but couldn’t get out, according to police.
The Good Samaritan swam to the truck, reached through the driver’s window and pulled the driver out of the truck.
Before firefighters arrived, the driver’s hero swam with him to the shore and bystanders helped them out.
The truck floated 100 yards away from the point that it entered river.
There was no information available about the condition of truck driver.
A female passenger in the other SUV was treated by paramedics on scene and then released.
