DENVER — A semi-truck caught fire in north metro Denver late Saturday afternoon, according to the Denver Fire Department.

It was reported in the area near 54th Avenue and Adams Street. A plume of smoke was visible for miles around.

Firefighters said  welders were working on the truck. A spark hit some rubber which started a fire that spread to wood chips that the truck was carrying. It didn’t take long for the whole thing to go up in flames.

Candice Alexander shot the short video of the plume of smoke from the fire.
