A woman in California says a gym asked her to cover up more while working out a couple of weeks ago.
KTVU in Oakland reports that Tiffany Austin, who wore a pink tank top and pants, says an employee of Planet Fitness gym told her to put on more clothes because she was intimidating other members with her toned body.
She was visiting the gym for the first time. She’s working out to get back into shape after a car wreck.
Austin told KTVU the staff member asked her to put on a shirt.
Planet Fitness runs ads that talk about banning “gymtimidation.”
A spokesman for the company told KTVU the gym wants to make everyone feel comfortable and staff discretion is used for the dress code.
Austin says her visit to the gym made her feel intimidated and harassed.
