DENVER -- Need your dog walked? There's now an app for that.

Wag! is making its Denver debut. The app has launched in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

While there are many pet apps on the market, Wag! is the first app to provide dog owners with instant access to quality dog walkers.

"It's really like Uber for dog walking," said Stacey D'Angelo, who has used the service more than a dozen times.

In as little as 10 minutes after making a request, D'Angelo said she has had a dog walker at her door. However, she now schedules daily walks for her dog Peppa while she's at work.

"I was feeling so guilty thinking, gosh, I leave at 8 a.m. and don't get home until 5:30. It's too long for her. Wag is the solution to that problem for us," she said.

Dog walkers undergo a background check and must pass a test before they're hired.

Gianna Gherardini is one of Denver's first Wag certified dog walkers.

"It's awesome. There's nothing better than getting paid to hang out with dogs all day," Gherardini said.

She also says the pay is another perk of the job.

"In the time I've been walking, I've made over $300 in a little more than a month," she said.

The service costs $20 for a half-hour walk, $30 for an hour and an additional $5 per dog in the same household.

When the walk is over, customers get a report card, including a map of where the dog walked.

"Sometimes it's funny. It has zig-zags on the map so you can tell Peppa was pulling her one way or another," D'Angelo said.

The report card also includes a picture of the dog on the walk and a "pee" and "poop" report.

"I'll be at work and all of a sudden I get a ding, a bark, on my phone and it's Peppa peed, and it's exactly where she peed on the map. Or it's Peppa pooped, and it's exactly where she pooped," D'Angelo said.
