Las Vegas gunman tackled by ‘Thunder from Down Under’ male dancers

LAS VEGAS — An alleged armed robber was tackled and restrained by a group of male performers from the Las Vegas dance group “Thunder from Down Under” on Tuesday, police said.

The suspect allegedly entered the strippers’ locker room at the Excalibur hotel about 9 p.m., the Las Vegas Review Journal newspaper reported. He stole several items, but was later confronted by members of the show when they recognized their property.

A fight broke out and the man tried to pull a gun, the newspaper reported. He was able to fire once, but no one was hit. The dancers were able to hold the suspect until police arrived.

The suspect, described as being 25-30 years old, faces charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, and burglary with a deadly weapon.
