BOULDER, Colo. — Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies stumbled upon a baby animal that was so cute, heads were turning.

A baby Northern Saw Whet owl was found by deputies in the middle of the road near Rainbow Lakes Campground on Thursday afternoon.

They posted the photos to their social media accounts of a deputy confronting the little one in the road using the hashtag #DeputiesLoveBabyOwls.

Authorities reported that the baby flew safely back to its nest after the interaction.

They said the baby owl picture was quite a hoot back in the Sheriff’s Office.
