DENVER -- As part of the “Once in a Blue Moon” Valentine’s Day project, 45 couples were hitched in the Denver Clerk’s office Friday. It's Once in a Blue Moon because weddings were free.

“We have been together for 19 years,” said same-sex couple Chad Michael and Steven. “This is the first time we could actually become legally married, so we took advantage of the opportunity.”

Another couple who met on Tinder’s dating site—Eric and Angelica—put their wedding on Skype, so family and friends in Boston could be at the ceremony.

“We did the swipe right twice thing and today we got it done,” said the happy couple.

Even his-honor, Mayor Michael Hancock said vows for a couple … the only marriage that puzzled this reporter was the guy with the football jersey and Chicago Bulls beanie? Come on man, take off the hat!! Just saying.
