DENVER -- It's not hard to find a Whole Foods, independent coffee shop, or yoga studio in Denver and those are all reasons the Mile High City is being cited as one of America's most pretentious.
The top 50 metro areas in the country were rated by Café Valet as part of what it calls the Pretension Index.
Denver ranked No. 4, topped by three California cities: San Francisco, San Jose, and San Diego.
Each city received a score based not only on local businesses, but also interests - such as poetry, Moleskine notebooks, and Sting's music - along with local activities.
The score used data from many sources, including Facebook and the U.S. Census.
