THORNTON, Colo. — There was a mom-to-be in labor that resulted in a mad dash to the hospital. That’s not so unusual. But what ended up happening is something the mom and dad will never forget.
Dad helped mom deliver a baby boy — not inside the hospital — but right outside of its doors.
Sergey and Angela Sushko had just arrived at North Suburban Medical Center Friday morning when the car slid on the ice, hit a curb and popped a tire.
It was at that moment that the baby had had enough, and decided it was time to be born.
“I’m running as fast as I can to get the wheelchair, open the door and she’s like, ‘I’m doing it. Its coming,” Sergey said.
The couple delivered a healthy five-pound boy named Elijah right outside of the hospital.
Everyone is just fine.
