CHARLESTON, S.C. — An angry bride is suing the hotel that hosted her wedding after an uninvited guest allegedly flashed his genitals and waved at attendees.
Anna Rogers Murphy claims she repeatedly asked the Double Tree Hotel & Suites whether they could keep outsiders from entering or disturbing the hotel courtyard during her March 2013 nuptials, according to Courthouse News. The hotel allegedly told her it would not be a problem.
But on the day of the wedding, guests saw a man identified as Samuel James Dengal watching the ceremony from his hotel room above the courtyard. He pressed his buttocks and genitals against the window and waved at the wedding party, the suit alleges.
The conduct “was so extreme and outrageous as to exceed all possible bounds of decency and must be regarded as utterly atrocious and intolerable in a civilized community,” the suit states.
Dengal was found naked in his room with a female companion. He was cited for indecent exposure, but is not named in the lawsuit, the Daily Mail reported.
Murphy is seeking reimbursement of her $15,000 venue fee, as well as unspecified damages.
