DURANGO, Colo. — Bear encounters are continuing in Colorado, with the latest happening at the La Plata County Jail.
The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office in southwest Colorado tweeted pictures of the bear scaling a gate into a secure area. The bear eluded deputies by running up a tree and taking off.
The sheriff’s office made a joke, saying the bear “exercised right to bear arms.”
Nobody was injured in the bear encounter.
