82-year-old Broomfield man rocks stage of ‘America’s Got Talent’

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — John Hetlinger is making waves after stunning the audience during an appearance on “America’s Got Talent.”

The 82-year-old retiree from Broomfield who flew jets for the Navy and helped fix the Hubble Space Telescope for NASA gave a full-throttle take on the famous heavy metal song “Bodies” by Drowning Pool.

Earlier Tuesday, Hetlinger had a breakout when the Born and Bred Metalhead Facebook page posted a video of him doing “Bodies” in 2014. It had drown nearly 9 million views by Thursday morning.

During his performance on “America’s Got Talent,” Hetlinger talked about his career then dove into the song, stunning the audience and the judges, who gaped at his out-of-this-world performance.

The performance has been viewed millions of times on Facebook and YouTube. And Drowning Pool praised Hetlinger on its Facebook page.
